Die Sonn' ist unter, Es schauert der Wind Und Zeit ist's daß wir geh'n -- Uns ward ja selber kühl, mein Kind, Seit wir uns nicht geseh'n. O Wiedersehen! Wie stieg so schnell Die alte Zeit empor -- Ein kurzer Sonnenblick, der schnell, Wie schnell ach! sich verlor. Geglüht, gefragt, Zurück gedacht, Eine Stunde Freud' und Lust, Als wär' es nimmer kühle Nacht Geworden in der Brust. Eine Stunde Fluth, Dann Ebbe schon Und nichts mehr zu gesteh'n -- Die Sonn' ist unter, die Gluth entfloh'n Und Zeit ist's, daß wir geh'n.
