Und welche Rose Blüthen treibt, Und welches Herze freit, Die frei'n und blühen beide Zur rechten Sommerzeit. O blühe, Röslein, blühe, O glühe, Mägdlein, glühe, Dieweil es eben Zeit. Und wer die Rose pflücken will, Pflückt sie zur rechten Stund', Und wen's geliebt zu küssen, Der küßt auf rothen Mund, O pflücke, Knabe, pflücke Und Lipp' an Lippe drücke, Es ist jetzt an der Stund'.
