Wunderbare Abendhelle, rings die Welt so klar, so frei! Trunken mit beschwingter Schnelle Gleitet ihr mein Blick vorbei. Weiter strebt er in die Ferne, immer weiter durch den Raum, strebt noch über jene Sterne, die dort glüh'n am Himmelssaum. Auch, umsonst sein rastlos Schiffen! Ach kein Ziel, wär's noch so weit! Doch ich schaue, süß ergriffen Tief in die Unendlichkeit.
