Ich hört' ein Vöglein singen Wohl in dem grünen Wald, Das thät so lieblich klingen, Das Echo wiederhallt: O komm', o komm' zum Wald, Der Lenz entfliehet bald. Ein Bächlein hört' ich rauschen Wohl durch das Farrenkraut, Ich ließ nicht ab zu lauschen, Es klang so lieb' und traut: O komm' zum Walde schnell, Gar bald flieht Lied und Well'. Ein Jagdhorn hört' ich blasen Ins Abendrot hinein, Wußt' nicht mein' Freud' zu lassen Und stimmte jauchzend ein: Ich komm' zum grünen Wald, Sobald das Jagdhorn schallt.
