So oft der Reif von allen Bäumen Herniedertroff bei lauem Süd, Und frisch die Saat begann zu keimen, Erklang auch hell der Lerchen Lied. Und all' die tausend Minnelieder, Dir Einz'gen dargebracht im Chor, Erstehen neu und immer wieder: "O Rose Deutschland, sprieß' empor!" Nun lacht der Lenz aus Höh'n und Gründen, Die Rebe blüht zu heiterm Sinn, Und tausend holde Boten künden Die Blüthezeit der Königin. Und darf der Lenz mit duft'gen Schwingen Dir wehen seine Grüße zu, Hör' auch den Wachtelruf erklingen: "Nun, Rose Deutschland, knosp' auch du!" Doch sieh, zur Knospe schon gestaltet, Birgst du der Blüthe volle Pracht, Still harrend, bis sie sich entfaltet In einer Lenzgewitternacht. Schon künden's tausend Nachtigallen In sehnsuchtsvoller Töne Lauf: Bald wird des Lenzes Donner schallen, Dann, Rose Deutschland, blühst du auf!
