Mauerreste, wilder Wein -- Letzte Rosen auf den Beeten -- Malven, Astern und Reseden -- Und darüber hingegossen Voller, gold'ner Sonnenschein. Tiefe Ruhe ringsumher! Lastend liegt des Mittags Schweigen Über all' den grünen Zweigen, Träumend blickt der Himmel nieder Und die Erde athmet schwer. Und wir beide, du und ich, All der Farbenschönheit trunken, Sind uns in den Arm gesunken, Leise, wie aus weiter Ferne, Hör' ich noch dein "Küsse mich ..."
