Er gab mir eine Rose und nannte sie mein Bild; sie ruht an meinem Herzen und duftet süß und mild. Er sprach zu mir von Liebe, von Lust und Seligkeit, dass treu er stets mir bliebe in alle Ewigkeit. Wie träumte ich so selig den wonnevollen Traum; das himmlische Entzücken, erfassen konnt' ich's kaum. Verwelkt doch ist die Rose, erloschen ist die Lieb', und ach, von all' der Wonne nur eine Trän' mir blieb.
