Schneeglöckchen
Language: German (Deutsch)
Available translation(s): CAT DUT ENG FRE
Die Sonne sah die Erde an,
Es ging ein milder Wind,
Und plötzlich stand Schneeglöckchen da,
Das fremde blasse Kind.
Und plötzlich brach mit Pomp und Braus
Der alte Winter auf,
Die Wolken eilten pfeilgeschwind
Zum dunklen Nord hinauf.
Eisscholle lief, Schneeflocke schmolz,
Die Stürme heulten drein,
Schneeglöckchen stand gesenkten Haupts
In dem Gewühl allein.
Ei komm! Du weißes Schwesterlein,
Wie lange willst du stehn?
Der Winter ruft, das Reich ist aus,
Wir müssen nach Hause gehn!
Und was nur rings auf Erden trägt
Die weiße Liverei,
Das schürze sich, das tummle sich
Zur Abfahrt schnell herbei!
Schneeglöckchen sah sich bebend an
Und dachte halb im Traum:
»Was soll um Winters Liverei
Der grüne, grüne Saum?
Wob ihn wohl um das weiße Kleid
Des Winters rauhe Hand?
Wo komm' ich her? wo geh' ich hin?
Wo ist mein Vaterland?«

Perce‑neige
Language: French (Français)  after the German (Deutsch)
Le soleil regardait la terre,
Un doux vent soufflait,
Et soudain un perce-neige se dressa,
Un étrange enfant pâle.
Et soudain avec pompe et vacarme
Le vieil hiver se mit en route,
Les nuages se hâtaient comme des flèches
Vers le sombre nord.
Les glaçons avançaient, les flocons fondaient,
Les tempêtes hurlaient là,
Le perce-neige se tenait la tête baissée
Seul dans le tumulte.
Eh ! viens ! Petite sœur blanche,
Combien de temps resteras-tu ?
L'hiver annonce la fin de son règne,
Nous devons aller à la maison.
Et ce qui tout autour porte seulement sur terre
La livrée blanche,
Se retrousse, s'ébroue
Pour un départ rapide !
Le perce-neige tremblant se regardait
Et pensait à moitié dans un rêve :
« Pourquoi la livrée de l'hiver
a-t-elle un ourlet vert, vert ?
A-t-il été tissé autour de la robe blanche
Par la main rugueuse de l'hiver ?
D'où suis-je venu ? Où vais-je ?
Où est ma patrie ? »
