Nel mio petto per l'estasi d'amore trema e si illumina il mio cuore, come l'acqua, canta esultando alle stelle e agli astri, si perde fremendo nel fluttuante ardore. Già dalle rocce, fra il verde dei platani, scorgo il tetto sorretto da colonne, e la luce, che brilla sull'altana, mi annuncia che l'amata veglia ancora. Vola, mia barca! E discreta accoglici, accogli noi due, notte beata d'agosto! E' dolce, cullarsi sulle onde, ma ancora più dolce sopra il suo seno.
