Vlieg maar, jullie, citerklanken, Vlieg omhoog maar, vlug en vief, Kruip door ’t hek vol wingerdranken Naar de kamer van mijn lief. “Kan jou, lieflijke Dolores”, - zing dat in een droom haar voor - “Een lief woordje niet bekoren In de schelpen van je oor?” Denk aan ’t lover, dicht geweven, Waar, omringd door geurstruweel, Jij zo zalig eens moest beven, Als de blaadjes in ’t prieel!
