En partant, il n'a pas jeté un regard en arrière,

Torche, nuit, dernière étreinte,

De l'enfer il a envoyé sa malédiction
Et dans le paradis il n'a pu l'oublier, --
Mais pieds nus, vêtu d'une chemise de pénitent,
Avec un cierge allumé il n'est pas passé
Dans sa Florence très désirée,
