Wanneer wij zijn in hoogste nood, Ons zien bedreigd door rampen groot, En vinden nergens hulp of raad, Hoewel wij tobben vroeg en laat, Dan is dit onze troost alleen, Dat wij tezamen in 't gemeen U roepen aan, o trouwe God, Die redt ons van ons angstig lot. Wij heffen dus ons oog en hart Naar U in echt berouw en smart En smeken om zondevergeving, Van alle straffen leniging, Die gij belooft, genadig, nu Allen die daar om smeken U, In naam van Jezus, God, uw zoon, Die ons verdedigt voor uw troon.
