For the child
Language: English  after the Occitan
Sleep, sleep, naughty pussycat,
sleep, sleep, come to the child!
But sleep doesn't come,
naughty sleep, naughty pussycat,
but sleep doesn’t come,
and our child will not sleep!
Sleep, sleep, naughty pussycat,
sleep, sleep, come to the child!
Pass under the table and under the bench,
naughty sleep, naughty pussycat,
pass under the table and under the bench,
naughty sleep, come to the child!
Translator's note for line 1: "mináuno" means literally, “misbehaving like a kitten” and "minou" means literally, a nickname for a small kitten: "pussy" or "pussycat"
