e come è l'uso de' scherniti Amanti
alla sua bella schernitrice avanti
di maltrattar godea tela innocente
ma quel ch'irato lacerava il dente
non mai restavan d'ammollire i pianti
che trito homai da tanti morsi e tanti
Liquido il rese al fin l'occhio gemente
Tela non sembra più ma foglie sparte
onde tu prima c'insegnasti Amore
col fiero esempio à fabbricar le carte
se nacque già dal feminil rigore
d'una Donna crudel si nobil arte
che produrrà la cortesia d'un core.

Acis en souffrance mord un linge blanc,
comme c'est l'usage des amants dédaignés,
devant sa belle moqueuse qu'il aimait avant
de maltraiter le tissu innocent.
Mais ce que les dents en colère déchiraient
les larmes ne manquaient pas pour l'amollir,
haché par tant et tant de morsures
il devient liquide grâce à l'œil qui se lamente.
Le linge ne semble plus exister mais dispersé en feuilles
ainsi tu nous as appris, Amour,
avec cet exemple cruel à fabriquer le papier.
Ainsi naquit de la rigueur féminine
d'une dame cruelle l'art si noble
que produira la bonté d'un cœur.
