Del verno saettar la stagion florida.
Di dolcissim'amor inebriato,
Dorme tacito vento in sen di Clorida.
Tal'hor però, lascivo e odorato
Ondeggiar tremolar fa l'herba florida;
L'aria, la terra, il ciel spiran amore:
Arda dunque d'amor, arda ogni core!
Io, ch'armato sin hor d'un duro gelo,
Degli assalti d'amor potei difendermi;
Né l'infocato suo pungente telo
Poté l'alma passar o 'l petto offendermi.
Hor che il tutto si cangia al novo cielo,
(A due begli occhi ancor non dovea rendermi!)
Sì si disarma il solito rigore:
Arda dunque d'amor, arda il mio core!

Du printemps qu'il lance sur la saison des fleurs.
Enivré d'un très doux amour,
Silencieusement le vent dort sur le sein de Cloride.
Cependant parfois, lascif et odorant,
Il fait ondoyer et trembler l'herbe fleurie ;
L'air, la terre, le ciel exhalent l'amour :
Donc que brûle d'amour, que brûle chaque cœur !
Moi qui alors étais armé d'un dur gel,
Je pouvais me défendre des assauts de l'amour ;
Mais avec sa flèche brûlante et piquante,
Il peut traverser mon âme et blesser mon cœur.
Maintenant que tout change au nouveau ciel,
(À de beaux yeux, je ne dois me rendre encore !)
Ainsi la rigueur habituelle se désarme :
