Blessed is [he with a] sincere heart Who nothing can trouble, nothing can alter, Who flees the impious and the sinner, Who walks in peace in the eyes of the Lord! Humble and fervent, he delights in the law. And day and night finds happiness in his faith! He is like the palm tree, [Planted] by the clear crystal waves, That brings forth fruit at the first sign of spring To bring to our greedy lips! And whatever he’s doing, Death is finished with him! But the impious and the wicked Are only dust driven away by the wind! God, the implacable judge, will punish the wicked! He will stretch out his merciless hand For above all, he is the God of justice; And God wants the culprit to perish! And God wants, in His justice, for the haughty culprit to perish!
