Am Dorfplatz klingen die Geigen so hell
Language: German (Deutsch)
Hilf, Himmel!

Hark! yonder far 'neath the greenwood tree
Language: English  after the German (Deutsch)
Hark! yonder far 'neath the greenwood tree, sweet music and dance fill the hearts with glee, all sorrow is flown. While far away from the merry crowd I hear them laughing so gay and loud, and stand here alone! Fair Jessie, wilt thou not join in the dance? Why stand here alone, as if lost in trance with features so sad? O heavens! That look and the clustering hair, and the bonnie blue eyes, and that face so fair, 'tis he, 'tis the lad!
From the Fielitz score.
