The prayer
Language: English  after the German (Deutsch)
A very little girl with her mother
prayed last Sunday in church,
and the girl was so absorbed in her prayer
as if she had much need to pray.
With that her mother was very pleased,
and she said to her after church:
"You are really a very pious girl,
so early in the morning you've prayed already.
But you must tell me now: What did you pray for,
my dear, good and cute child?"
And the girl answered her question:
"I prayed that worship would come to an end soon!"
