Blinking
Language: English  after the German (Lower Austrian)
Look there, how the stars
behave so squeamishly
and give their eyes
no rest for a moment!
By Jove, what coyness!
No man would behave like that!
It's maidens that blink so,
if one gives them too cheeky a glance.
So what everyone would say,
I shall say too:
The stars are maidens --
that is why they blink that way!
