Jabłuňka
Language: Moravian (Moravština)
Available translation(s): ENG
Po zahradce chodiła,
rozjabłuňku sadiła.
Rosť, jabłuňko, vysoko,
rozkladaj se široko.
Biłym květem prokvitaj,
a jabłečkem zasedaj.
Pěknym biłym, červenym,
na me ličko podobnym.
Fuč, větřičku, z połedně,
zhoď jabłečko lebo dvě.
Kaj jabłečko dopadně,
tam se miła dostaně.
Kera mudra děvěčka,
něch pozbiře jabłečka.
Jako sem ja zebrała,
za synečkem posłała.

My Dear Apple Tree
Language: English  after the Moravian (Moravština)
In my garden I wandered,
an apple tree I planted.
Grow, dear apple tree, grow tall,
spread your branches wide and all,
White blossom upon the tree,
then lovely apples, I’ll see.
White and red, such fine colours,
red just like my bonny cheeks.
Blow then, o southerly squall,
let an apple or two fall.
Where my apple falls, I swear,
there my darling will appear.
If a girl is good and wise,
may she collect those apples.
As I collected them one day,
sent them to my love away.
