Com, amb un metzinós agulló, m’has gairebé esquinçat les barres! La meva orella retruny sense parar de la teva fiblada martiritzant; tu ets el turment i el llast dels meus nervis; et maleeixo! Quan apareixen els ardors i els calfreds de la febre, el còlic turmenta, i el reuma arriba al moll dels ossos, compassió i conhort ens atorga el cor del veí; en aquest mal però, al dolor infernal, s’hi afegeix encara la pena de la mofa! La saliva em degota pel mentó, llenço les cadires d’aquí cap allà; al voltant del foc, amb alegre esperit, dansen les criatures, un eixam de borinots – ai, sóc tot bogeria i fúria! Entre tots els flagells d’aquest món, collites malmeses, manca de diners, tota la banda de brivalls que paren la xarxa amb astúcia i diligència, i d’entre tot el que amarga la nostra gaubança, tu t’emportes el primer premi!
