Stjärnöga
Language: Swedish (Svenska)
Available translation(s): ENG FRE
Stjärnöga, du som jag mött
långt i försvunna tider,
nu är det kvälldags,
och trött min ungdom till vila skrider.
Irrbloss, som världen har tänt,
slockna så lätt i världen.
Stjärnöga, mycket har hänt,
sedan vi skildes på färden.
Villsam är vägen som går fram
genom mörka länder.
Stjärnöga, stjärnöga,
når jag aldrig mer dina händer?
Tag mina händer
och led mig in i ditt ljusa rike.
Stjärnöga, giv mig din fred
och låt mig varda din like.

Star‑eye
Language: English  after the Swedish (Svenska)
Star-eye, you that I met
long ago in vanished times,
now it is the evening of life,
and my weary youth is moving unto rest.
Will-o'-the-wisps, that the world has lighted,
fade so easily away in the world.
Star-eye, much has happened
since we parted on our ways.
Bewildering is the road that goes
through dark countries.
Star-eye, star-eye,
shall I never more reach your hands?
Take my hands
and lead me into your bright kingdom.
Star-eye, give me your peace
and let me become like you.
