Soi kunniaksi Luojan

Soi kunniaksi Luojan,
nyt virsi kiitoksen,
tuon kaiken hyvän tuojan
ja suojan ainaisen!
Hän, Isä, rakkahasti
ain vaalil luotujaan,
ja kaiken taitavasti
hän ohjaa tuolta taivaastaan.
Hän säät ja ilmat säätää
ja aallot tainnuttaa
ja hyisen hallan häätää
ja viljan vartuttaa.
Hän onneen meidät ohjaa,
jos joutuu johdantaan.
Sen rakkauden pohjaa
ken pystyy koskaan tutkimaan?
Siis kiitos, Herra taivaan,
kun lahjas meille toit
ja palkaks työn ja vaivan
taas puhtaan leivän soit.
Suo, että alttiin mielin
myös köyhää holhoomme,
ja sydämin ja kielin
sua lakkaamatta kiitämme.

For the Honour of the Creator
Language: English  after the Finnish (Suomi)
For the Honour of the Creator
we sing this hymn of thankfulness,
[For] he brings us everything good
and gives us shelter forever!
He, Father, full of love
always takes care of his own
and all this skillfully
he rules from out there, his Heaven.
He regulates the weather and winds
and smoothens the waves
and also makes cold nights go away
to make the corn grow.
He will lead us to happiness,
if we follow his guidance.
How deep is this love
can it ever be discovered?
So, thank you Lord in Heaven
for having brought us Your gifts
and as salary for our work and trouble
again You gave us pure bread.
Let it be, that willingly
we also take care of the poor,
and with our hearts and tongues
we will forever thank you.
