Volíem desaprendre tot el que és mesquí i lleig, volíem cobrir d’estels voltants i llunyanies amb cants de felicitat, i garlandes de joia als nostres caps. Ara he construït un castell en la remota quietud de les alçàries; el meu anhel és allà i s’abalteix i el dia fosqueja, -- princesa, on vas romandre? Ara envio a tots els vents els meus cants fervents. Ells t’han de cercar i trobar i t’han de fer saber la pena que per tu el meu cor ha sofert. T’han de parlar també d’una seductora, infinita felicitat, t’han de besar i turmentar i t’han de fer perdre el son, -- princesa, quan tornaràs?
