In der Schmiede dröhnt der Hammer
Language: German (Deutsch)
Available translation(s): ENG FRE ITA
In der Schmiede dröhnt der Hammer
Und sie huscht am Tor vorüber.
Glührot schwingt der Knecht den Hammer
Und sie schaut wie tot hinüber.
Wie im Traum trifft sie ein Lachen;
Und sie taumelt in die Schmiede,
Scheu geduckt vor seinem Lachen,
Wie der Hammer hart und rüde.
Hell versprühn im Raum die Funken
Und mit hilfloser Geberde
Hascht sie nach den wilden Funken
Und sie stürzt betäubt zur Erde.

Nella fucina batte squillante il martello
Language: Italian (Italiano)  after the German (Deutsch)
Nella fucina batte squillante il martello
Lei sguscia rapida davanti alla porta.
Incandescente leva il servo il martello
E lei lo osserva come fosse morta.
Come in sogno lei sente una risata
E dentro la fucina lei barcolla,
Timida e rapita per quella risata
Pesante e dura come lui che martella.
Sprizzano nell'aria luminose scintille
E lei con un gesto impotente
Vorrebbe acchiappare le scintille,
Ma, tramortita, crolla sul pavimento.
