In the nights, in my nights Swirling dreams are all about, Sweet to the taste they are like new wine. I dream of the blossoming trees that let float Their petals until I am covered by them. What am I saying ? Not petals but kisses, Blushing all over like the reddest wine. And sad like butterflies who divine That they must be leaving with the sunshine. In the nights, in my nights Swirling dreams are all about, Are heavy like the tired sand. I picture that falling from dying trees Withering leaves alight on my hand. What ? Not leaves falling; Hands, they are hands That caress like the sands whirl around me barely sensed, Weary like butterflies who feel their end Draws near as the rays of the sun ascend. In the nights, in my nights Swirling dreams are all about, Blue with the pangs of my longing they glow. I picture that falling from all of the trees Are snowflakes , frozen butterflies of snow. What am I saying? Not snowflakes but tears That I have been shedding in sorrow, in grief. Here, take my tears, beloved, you have to listen -- All of them flowed out in longing for you.
