Romanze

Ihm ist erfüllt das Herz von süßen Trieben;

Romance
Language: English  after the German (Deutsch)
It must be a special thing, love.
It often makes rare changes in the human heart:
it makes some soft and some hard like bronze,
some bold and others shy just like a thief.
It can soon bring joy, and soon bother,
so it must be magnificent, to love so heatedly!
Only in love is there happiness and hope;
whoever is embraced by love, their breast will swell with ardour
in unimagined ecstasy and desire.
They see Paradise, heaven itself, open;
their heart is filled with sweet longing.
How magnificent it must be, to love so heatedly!
