Le troupeau de chevaux est silencieux, seule la rivière murmure.

Flambe soudain, jaillissant parmi les nuages
Et sur la rivière et les tentes
Étend son brillant éclat rose ici et là :
Alors des jeunes filles se baignant dans l'ombre,
Tandis qu'elles jettent les yeux sur un adolescent,
Toutes rougissantes, baissant leur regard vers la terre :
Mais comment fuir, si près du cher bandit !...
