Vorbei

'T is past!
Language: English  after the German (Deutsch)
This cannot be the selfsame tree, That on this spot was growing, When happy I gazes on its flow'ry sea Radiant in beauty glowing. This cannot be the forest proud The noght with fragrance filling When from my darling home I rode, New songs my bosom sweling. This cannot be the oden vale, Where the timid deer were grazing On which at night a thousand times, Raptured we two stood gazing. 'T is still the forest, vale and tree, The world os still young hearted, Love's happy day is past for me, Love's dream for e'er departed.
