So heimlich wie die Blümlein spriessen und ihre Düfte sanft verwehn, wie abends sich die Kelchlein schliessen, die still im hohen Grase stehn. So heimlich wie die Sterne schweben am blauen, ew'gen Himmelszeit, wie Kinderwangen zart erröten und Früchte reifen auf dem Feld, so kam die Liebe, wie die Sonne nach langem Winter, sehnsuchtstrunken, die ganze Erde badet in Wonne. Wir wussten's nich, und sie war da.
