Da droben auf jenem Berge
Language: German (Deutsch)

Da droben auf jenem Berge,
Da steht ein feines Schloß,
Da wohnen drei schöne Fräulein,
Von denen ich Liebe genoß.
Sonnabend küßte mich Jette,
Und Sonntag die Julia,
Und Montag die Kunigunde,
Die hat mich erdrückt beinah.
Doch Dienstag war eine Fete
Bei meinen drei Fräulein im Schloß;
Die Nachbarschafts-Herren und Damen,
Die kamen zu Wagen und Roß.
Ich aber war nicht geladen,
Und das habt ihr dumm gemacht!
Die zischelnden Muhmen und Basen,
Die merktens und haben gelacht.

Là‑haut sur cette montagne
Language: French (Français)  after the German (Deutsch)
Là-haut sur cette montagne
S'élève un élégant château,
Là vivent trois belles demoiselles,
Desquelles je goûte l'amour.
Samedi soir Jette m'embrassait,
Et dimanche, Julia,
Et lundi Cunégonde,
Qui m'a presque écrasé.
Cependant mardi il y avait fête
Au château, chez mes trois demoiselles;
Les messieurs et dames du voisinage
Y vinrent en voiture et à cheval.
Mais je n'étais pas invité,
Et cela les a abasourdis!
Les tantes et cousins cancaniers
L'ont remarqué et en ont ri.
