Die Weinende
Language: German (Deutsch)  after the English
Available translation(s): CAT DUT ENG FRE
Ich [seh]1 dich weinen! ach! die Zähre
Schwamm auf des Auges Blau;
Und dieses Auge, dacht' ich, [wäre]2
Ein Veilchen, naß vom Thau.
Ich sah dich lächeln; Saphirschimmer
Trat matt vor dir zurück,
Den regen Glanz erreicht' er nimmer,
Der strahlt aus deinem Blick.
Wie Wolken von der Sonn' empfangen
Ein tiefes mildes Licht,
Und kommt der Abend auch gegangen,
Ganz nimmt er's ihnen nicht:
So leihet seine eig'ne Wonne
Dieß Lächeln selbst dem Schmerz,
Ein Glühen bleibt von dieser Sonne,
Das süß durchströmt das Herz!
R. Schumann sets stanza 1

La plorosa
Language: Catalan (Català)  after the German (Deutsch)
T’he vist plorar! Ai! La blavor
dels teus ulls es desfà en llàgrimes;
i pensava que aquests ulls eren
com una violeta, molla de rosada.
T’he vist somriure; l’esclat del safir
passava a segon terme, somort, al teu costat,
mai podrà aconseguir la intensa brillantor
que resplendeix del teu esguard.
Tal com els núvols reben del sol
una llum profunda i suau,
i encara que arribi el capvespre
no els hi pot prendre del tot:
així aquest somriure atorga
el seu propi goig, fins i tot a la pena,
i resta un esclat d’aquest sol
que dolçament flueix dins del meu cor!
