Lieber alles
Language: German (Deutsch)
Available translation(s): CAT ENG FRE FRE ITA
Soldat sein ist gefährlich,
studieren sehr beschwerlich,
das Dichten süß und zierlich,
der Dichter gar possierlich
in diesen wilden Zeiten.
Ich möcht' am liebsten reiten,
ein gutes Schwert zur Seiten,
die Laute in der Rechten,
Studentenherz zum Fechten.
Ein wildes Roß ist's Leben,
die Hufe Funken geben,
wer's ehrlich wagt, bezwingt es,
und wo es tritt, da klingt es!

Meglio di tutto
Language: Italian (Italiano)  after the German (Deutsch)
Fare il soldato è pericoloso
Studiare è assai faticoso,
poetare è dolce e gentile
ma il poeta fa morire dal ridere,
in tempi così rozzi.
Meglio a cavallo andare
Con una bella spada al fianco,
con un liuto alla destra,
e il coraggio di un giovane cuore.
Un cavallo selvaggio è la vita,
i sui zoccoli fanno scintille,
chi osa rischiare, vince,
e dove egli va, il suo passo risuona!
