The sun goes forth to gild the east and paint the heavens wide, to wash the hills with purple hues and light the countryside. It rises from the vale afar where paradise once lay with strength and hope and rich delight for children on the way. It greets them from that Eden land, from Eve and Adam's home, where swirling round the tree of life the crystal waters shone. The sages from the eastern lands beheld it beaming bright and traced this glorious morning star to everlasting Light. The starry hosts that shine on high all bow before this Sun; they hail this morning star that shone o'er little Bethlehem. For rays of grace, O Sun of Suns, our hymns of thanks arise, for daily shining news of hope, of life in paradise.
