La corona imperiale e la peonia rossa, devono avere subito una fattura, Mio padre e mia madre stanno da tempo nella fossa, perché questa solitaria fioritura? Zampilla la fontana e ancora racconta, dei bei momenti del tempo passato, nel sonno immersa sta lì seduta una donna, i suoi capelli le coprono il vestito. Nelle sue mani trattiene un liuto, e nel sonno sembra voglia parlare, a me il suo volto sembra già conosciuto -- Ma, zitto, vado oltre per non disturbare! E quando ormai sulla valle il buio è disceso, lei inizia a toccare dolcemente le corde, ne viene fuori un suono meraviglioso, che tutta la notte nel giardino si diffonde.
