Silbern weint ein Krankes
Am Abendweiher,
Auf schwarzem Kahn
Hinüberstarben Liebende.
Oder es läuten die Schritte
Elis' durch den Hain
Den Hyazinthenen
Wieder verhallend unter Eichen.
O des Knaben Gestalt
Geformt aus kristallenen Tränen,
Nächtigen Schatten.
Zackige Blitze erhellen die Schläfe
Die immerkühle,
Wenn am grünenden Hügel
Frülingsgewitter ertönt.

hors d'une cavité bleue,
et beaucoup de fleurs tombaient
sur le sentier rocheux.
Quelque chose de malade pleure des larmes d'argent
à côté de l'étang du soir,
sur une barque noire
des amants morts portés.
Ou les pas d'Élis résonnent
à travers le bosquet
de jacinthes
se perdant au loin à nouveau sous les chênes.
Ô la forme du garçon
faite de larmes de cristal,
d'ombres nocturnes.
Des éclairs illuminent les tempes
toujours fraîches,
quand sur la colline verdoyante
l'orage printanier retentit.
