Nun, da Schatten niedergleiten
Language: German (Deutsch)
Available translation(s): CAT DUT ENG FRE
Nun, da Schatten niedergleiten,
Und die Lüfte zärtlich wehen,
Dringet Seufzen aus der Seele,
Und umgirrt die treuen Saiten.
Klaget, daß ihr mit mir sterbet
Bittern Tod, wenn die nicht heilet,
Die den Becher mir gereichet,
Voller [Gift in süßem Scherbet]1.
Erst mit Tönen, sanft wie Flöten,
Goß sie Schmerz in meine Adern;
Sehen wollte sie der Kranke,
Und nun wird ihr Reiz ihn tödten.
Nacht, komm her, mich zu umwinden
Mit dem farbenlosen Dunkel!
Ruhe will ich bey dir suchen,
Die mir noth thut bald zu finden.

Maintenant, que les ombres descendent en...
Language: French (Français)  after the German (Deutsch)
Maintenant, que les ombres descendent en glissant,
Et que la brise souffle doucement,
Des soupirs sortent de l'âme
Et caressent les cordes fidèles.
Lamentez-vous de mourir avec moi
Une mort amère, si elle ne me guérit pas,
Elle qui m'a tendu la coupe
Pleine de poison, pour que moi et elle périssions.
D'abord avec des sons doux comme des flûtes,
Elle a versé la douleur dans mes veines ;
Le malade a voulu la voir,
Et maintenant ses charmes le tue.
Nuit, viens ici, pour m'envelopper
De l'obscurité sans couleur !
Je veux chercher en toi le repos
Que je dois trouver désespérément.
