Wagt' eins davon zu pflücken, Weil mir's so wohl gefiel; Doch als ich mich wollt bücken, Sah ich ein lieblich Spiel. Ik waagd' er één te plukken, Want het beviel mij wel; Maar toen ik mij wou bukken, Zag ik een prachtig spel. De vlinders en de bijen, De kevers licht en blank, Dat waren de partijen Bij vrolijke morgenzang; Ze grapten veel en kusten Het bloempje op de mond, En deden wat hen lustte; Het uur was weldra rond. Terwijl zij almaar vlogen Bij 't spel zo op en neer, Was 't bloempje opgetogen En boog steeds heen en weer. Dus heb ik 't niet gebroken, Dan was het morgen dood; Ik heb alleen gesproken: Tot ziens, jij bloempje rood! De vlinders en de bijen, De kevers licht en blank, Die bleven zich vermeien En zongen mij ten dank.
