O qui coeli terraeque serenitas
Language: Latin
Available translation(s): ENG FRE GER
Aria da capo - Allegretto
O qui coeli terraeque serenitas
et fons lucis et arbiter es,
Unde regis aeterna tua sidera
mitis considera
nostra vota, clamores et spes.
Recitativo
Fac ut sordescat tellus
dum respicimus coelum;
fac ut bona superna
constanter diligamus
et sperantes aeterna
quidquid caducum
est odio habeamus.
Aria da capo - Largo
Rosa quae moritur,
unda quae labitur,
mundi delicias
docent fugaces.
Vix fronte amabili
mulcent cum labili
pede praetervolant
larvae fallaces.
Alleluia - Allegro

Was ist die Stille des Himmels und der Erde
Language: German (Deutsch)  after the Latin
Aria da capo - Allegretto
Was ist die Stille des Himmels und der Erde
Die Quelle des Lichts und der Richter.
Vom Ursprung der ewigen Sterne
blicke gütig herab
Auf unsere Gebete, Rufe und Hoffnungen.
Recitativo
Mach, daß uns die Erde verorben scheine,
wenn wir aufblicken zum Himmel;
Mach, daß wir himmlische Reichtümer
stets zu schätzen wissen
und uns, hoffend auf ewige Werte,
alles Vergängliche
verhasst sei.
Aria da capo - Largo
Die Rose, die dahinwelkt,
das Wasser, das dahinfließt,
solchermaßen vergänglich
Sing die Wonnen der Welt.
Mit ihrem lieblichen Schein
ergötzen uns kaum
ehe sie huschen vorbei,
Die trügerischen Gespenster.
Alleluia - Allegro
