La Peri Come felici avanzano gli spiriti beati fra il profumo dei fiori che mai appassiscono! Se anche sono miei i giardini di terra e di mare, e possa cogliere fiori anche qua e là fra le stelle: più di tutti è bello un fiorellino del cielo! Luminoso e puro risplende il lago del Kashmir con il riflesso delle sue isole di platani, e là scorrono ruscelli fra le sabbie dorate, Ma ahimè! Solo ai beati ciò è noto: una goccia di cielo è più di ogni altra cosa bella! Va', librati volando da stella a stella, da un astro a un altro ancora più luminoso, così lontano quanto il cielo stende la sua volta solare, accogli pure le gioie che le sfere ti offrono e fa' che durino per un tempo infinito: ma una sola ora del cielo è più bella di tutte.
