Bevi le mie lacrime, ed anche il mio sangue, e pure il sangue del mio cuore ti darei se fosse un balsamo per la tua febbre ardente, se anche per un attimo ti desse sollievo! Oh! Da me non distogliere il dolce tuo sguardo, sono io la tua sposa, non è forse così? Nella vita come anche nella tomba non è forse il mio posto sempre al tuo fianco? Pensi forse che colei, che da te soltanto nell'oscurità del mondo riceve la luce, possa tollerare la tenebra fosca, che su di lei calerà , quando saranno chiusi i tuoi occhi? Che possa vivere sola, senza di te, vita della mia vita, non avverrà mai!
