Frühlingszeit, schönste Zeit! Die uns Gott der Herr verleiht, Weckt die Blümlein aus der Erde, Gras und Kräuter für die Heerde, Läßt die jungen Lämmer springen, Läßt die lieben Vogel singen, Menschen, eures Gottes denkt, Der euch so den Frühling schenkt. Sommerzeit, heiße Zeit! Sonne brennt wohl weit und breit; Aber Gott schickt milden Regen, Schüttet alles Feld voll Segen, Schenkt dem Schnitter volle Ähren, Brods genug, uns all' zu nähren. Menschen, merkt es, Gott ist gut, Daß er so am Sommer thut. Herbsteszeit, reiche Zeit! Gott hat Segen ausgestreut, Daß sich alle Bäume neigen Von den fruchtbeladnen Zweigen; Schaut nun her mit Vaterblicken, Wie sich alle dran erquicken. Menschen, nehmt die Gaben gern, Aber ehret auch den Herrn. Winterzeit, kalte Zeit, Aber Gott schenkt warmes Kleid, Dichten Schnee der kahlen Erde, Warmes Wollenfell der Heerde, Federn weich den Vogelschaaren, Daß sie keine Noth erfahren, Menschen, Haus und Herd auch euch. Lobt ihn, der so gnadenreich!

Aus dem Himmel ferne, wo die Englein sind, schaut doch Gott so gerne her auf jedes Kind. Höret seine Bitte treu bei Tag und Nacht, nimmt's bei jedem Schritte väterlich in Acht. Giebt mit Vaterhänden ihm sein täglich Brod, hilft an allen Enden ihm aus Angst und Noth. Sagt's den Kindern allen, daß ein Vater ist, dem sie wohlgefallen, der sie nie vergißt.

Vöglein im hohen Baum, klein ist's, ihr seht es kaum, singt doch so schön; daß wohl von nah und fern alle die Leute gern horchen und steh'n. Blümlein im Wiesengrund blühen so lieb und bunt tausend zugleich; wenn ihr vorüber geht, wenn ihr die Farben seht, freuet ihr euch. Wässerlein fließt so fort, immer von Ort zu Ort nieder ins Thal; dürstet nun Mensch und Vieh, kommen zum Bächlein sie, trinken zumal. Habt ihr es auch bedacht, er hat so schön gemacht alle die drei? Gott der Herr machte sie, daß sich nun spät und früh jedes dran freu'.
