Awakened to new life Nature stands before me, And mild breezes weave Through the snow-covered fields. Upward from its seed Sprouts the young stalk, The woods’ barren silence Is enlivened by the bird’s psalm. The field clothed in flowers Is, Creator, your altar, And offerings of pure joy Are consecrated to you by the new year; It brings the first scents Of the blue violet to you And soaring through the air The lark sings praises to you. [...] [...] [...] Sing praises to him, my soul, To the god who creates joy! Sing praises to him and proclaim The power of his works! Here, from the hill of flowers Up to the orbits of the stars, Lift, on wings of devotion, Your song of praise heavenward!
