Snel ijlde de jongen met vrolijke stap, Kling-klang klopte zijn hart; Nam heel wat lachende bloemen rap, Kling-klang klopte zijn hart. “Over weiden en velden Waait lentewind, Over bergen en bossen Waait lentewind. In ‘t hart hier van binnen waait lentewind, Die drijft naar jou mij zachtjes, kind!” Kling-klang klopte zijn hart. Wel, er stond toen een meisje in ‘t wijde land, Kling-klang klopte haar hart.
