Brosta el petit gra, l’ocell canta, la primavera ha arribat; raja la font, clar corre el rierol, el peixet arriba nedant. I arreu hi ha un alegre ressò, tot es belluga ple de joia, car la delícia i el goig omplen tots els pits i la petita herba a la prada. L’abella bugona, la vespa brunzeix, l’aranya para la teranyina; ella rau amagada, brillen els seus ulls, pensa en la presa i la cacera. I el mosquit vola i s’atrapa a la teranyina abans d’adonar-se’n; i mentre encara pensa: “Com ha pogut passar?” Per a ell tot ja s’ha perdut. Infant meu, ocultes hi ha moltes teranyines, penjades aquí i allà; hom esguarda i esguarda, confia i confia, i resta atrapat a la tela.
