Der Glücksritter

Wenn Fortuna spröde tut,
laß' ich sie in Ruh',
singe recht und trinke gut,
und Fortuna kriegt auch Mut,
setzt sich mit dazu.
Doch ich geb' mir keine Müh':
»He, noch eine her!«
kehr' den Rücken gegen sie,
laß' hoch leben die und die
das verdrießt sie sehr.
Und bald rückt sie sacht zu
mir: »Hast du deren mehr?«
»Wie Sie seh'n, drei Kannen schier,
und das lauter Klebebier!
's wird mir gar nicht schwer.«
Drauf sie zu mir lächelt fein:
»Bist ein ganzer Kerl!«
ruft den Kellner, schreit nach Wein,
trinkt mir zu und schenkt mir ein,
echte Blum' und Perl'.
Sie bezahlet Wein und Bier,
und ich, wieder gut,
führe sie am Arm mit mir
aus dem Haus wie'n Kavalier,
alles zieht den Hut.

L'avventuriero
Language: Italian (Italiano)  after the German (Deutsch)
Se la Fortuna si mostra scontrosa,
io allora la lascio in pace,
bevo di gusto e allegro canto,
La Fortuna prende coraggio,
Viene e mi siede accanto.
Ma io non mi do affatto da fare:
"Portatemi un altro boccale"
Ed a lei mostro le spalle,
brindando a questa e a quella,
e questo la fa indispettire.
E presto mi si fa vicina
"Ne hai ancora da bere?"
"Come vedi, tre boccali interi,
e tutti di birra forte!
Io bene li sopporto!"
Lei allora mi sorride suadente:
"Sei proprio un vero uomo!"
Chiama l'oste e ordina vino,
brinda alla mia salute e me lo mesce,
profumato e spumeggiante.
Paga infine la birra e il vino,
e io tutto soddisfatto
la conduco, sotto braccio,
fuori dall'osteria, come un cavaliere,
mentre si scappellano tutti con un inchino.
