Hi ha una remor atraient al voltant de l’arbre: desperta’t del teu son i del teu somni, l’hivern s’ha esvaït. Ella aixeca el seu fresc esguard, els seus ulls es veuen clars a la daurada llum del sol. Un oreig suau i tebi gronxa l’estol de núvols davallant com una flaire celestial. Llavors es desperten totes les flors, llavors ressona el dolç cant dels ocells, llavors torna la primavera. Quelcom batega i tremola a la sang, les pestanyes s’humitegen de llàgrimes, palpita suaument el cor. Oh home, perceps el goig de la primavera, i l’amor capalça la teva severitat i et desperta dolces penes! Bufa el vent i porta el pol·len de calze en calze, de fulla en fulla, a través dels dies i les nits. Vola tu també, cor meu, i aleteja ben lluny, cerca un cor aquí i cerca’l allà, potser en trobaràs un que sigui escaient.
